The factory original GE SmartWater RPWFE is used in refrigerators by GE.  The RPWFE filter creates better tasting water for drinking and making beverages as well as clean, clearer, healthy ice.

Instructions for use:
The filter cartridge should be replaced every six months or earlier if 170 gallons of water has been dispensed or the flow of water to the dispenser or icemaker decreases.
To replace the filter, first remove the old cartridge by opening the filter door and pulling on the bottom of the cartridge to allow it to swing outward.  When the cartridge can no longer swing, gently pull to unseat if from the cartridge holder.  DO NOT TWIST CARTRIDGE.

How To Install The GE RPWFE Filter:

  1. Remove old cartridge by gently lifting the filter away from housing until first release, and then lift again to remove.
  2. Align top of filter with cartridge holder and push until cartridge is fully seated.
  3. While continuing to ensure cartridge is fully seated in the holder, gently rotate the filter (inward for BF models and downward for SxS models) until it can no longer rotate.
  4. Run water from the dispenser (approximately 8 liters (2 gallons or about 5 minutes) to clear any particles and remove air from the system.
